By accessing and using ConflictWatch Live ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of the Service immediately.

ConflictWatch Live is a free, publicly accessible web application that visualizes armed conflict events on an interactive map. The Service aggregates data from third-party sources (primarily ACLED) and presents it in a user-friendly dashboard format. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

The conflict event data displayed on ConflictWatch Live is sourced from third-party providers, primarily ACLED. While we strive to present accurate and up-to-date information, we make no guarantees regarding the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of the data. Specifically:

ConflictWatch Live should not be used as a sole source for academic citations, legal proceedings, policy decisions, or any other context where data accuracy is critical. Always cross-reference with primary sources.

4. Intellectual Property

The ConflictWatch Live application code is open-source and available under the MIT License. The underlying conflict event data is the property of ACLED and is subject to their terms of use. Map tiles are provided by CARTO and OpenStreetMap contributors under their respective licenses.

The ConflictWatch name, logo, and visual design are the property of the project maintainers. You may not use these for your own projects without permission.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ConflictWatch Live and its maintainers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

The Service integrates third-party tools including ACLED (data), Google AdSense (advertising), Adsterra (advertising), Leaflet (mapping), and Vercel (hosting). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or content of any third-party service.

ConflictWatch Live is supported by display advertising through Google AdSense and Adsterra. Advertisements are clearly labeled and do not represent endorsement by ConflictWatch Live. We reserve the right to display ads in designated areas of the Service. Ad content is controlled by the respective advertising networks, not by ConflictWatch Live.

8. Service Availability

We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. The Service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, or due to factors beyond our control (such as third-party API outages or hosting issues). We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without prior notice.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
